Never again .... These pods are bottom of the barrel. Very stale tasting and not at all pleasant.

This is a good deal. I disagree with the other opinion about Lavazza pods; I've bought them MANY times for both me and, separately, for my college student son. Lavazza pods used to be terrible when they were plastic, but they switched to aluminum more than a year ago and that made a huge difference. There IS a flaw with these pods, which is why I look for prices in the 33 cent range (per pod). When placed in many people's Nespresso (original line) machines, the pods will first pass through water for about a second and then the espresso drink. You can hold back your cup until you hear the little puncture and hiss sound, which signals that the espresso is about to replace the hot water, or you can have a VERY slightly diluted Nespresso drink. It's really not a big deal, but it's certainly a reason to buy these only when they're priced low.

I like a strong espresso taste, sort of chocolatey/ cocoa-ish, and I've tried a lot of brands. Nespresso's Firenze Arpeggio (purple pods) are the very best IMO, then Peets stronger (10-12) blends are very good, then Illy, L'Or, Starbucks, and Lavazza are all passable if they can be had inexpensively (under 40 cents/ pod, hopefully lower). I used to rate Starbucks closer to Peets but as I've thought about it and had a lot of their pods I've come to realize that they're really no better than the other middle-range pods.

Just my experience and my opinion, but I would caution that if you haven't tried Lavazza since they moved to aluminum, you might be writing off a different product than what's being sold here.
PS: for me, the purple Lavazza pods are showing up as $15.94 on S&S, or $0.27/ capsule. That's a VERY good deal. I assume it's 15% off for me simply because I have enough other products on S&S so that 15% is "unlocked," so YMMV. I'd buy them at 30 cents per pod, too, except I already have plenty.

I share the same sentiment. Never again. I actually threw them away.

I know this is completely off topic, but the it reminds me of Sony tape packages.
