This has to be at least 7 years old. Cooler master has shut down their peripheral division and they had many keyboards and mice newer and better than this. I wouldn't pick it up unless you just want the cheapest stuff.
Membrane is typically less durable, cheaper and more spongier.
Mechanical is typically more durable and has more of a tactical/clicky feel to it. They are also generally more customizable and there are different types of switches for preference. (Clicky, tactical, linear, etc.)
There is more to it than just that, but that's kind of an overall simplification of the difference between the two.
