The extreme processor version has been $450 recently. Handheld gaming is not my area of expertise, but my research in prior months in my continual quest for new toys to play with seemed like the $70 is worth the upgrade.

This is probably the lowest price going forward. During the holiday season it was regularly $350 and could even be obtained under $300. However, supply appears limited and most stores are now out of stock. There are plenty of reviews and videos to help you decide if it's worth this price for your use case.

I personally work at a Sam's and never see anyone trying to buy these in my area . They had it for 350 when it first launched at my location and then bumped it up to 479

This is the regular version, go to ebay and buy the z1 Extreme for under $400. I have the ally and legion go, and to be completely honest, only the ally is the portable one.

Broke my steam deck, and looking to replace it. Unfortunately I've always been a computer gamer. After SNES, maybe PS1, controllers got too complicated for me.

Anyways does anybody other then steam make a handheld with the touchpads. Games like civ 6 work very well with the touchpads, but poorly on sticks.

New Asus 11" handheld is coming out as well as the recently released ROG Zflow13 2025. I think we'll see some lower prices on these as newer tech is able to run LLM in a tablet format and play AAA games.

From what I understand, it's not worth it to get the non-extreme version; especially at this price. Best Buy had a huge deal going on for their pre-owned stock, and people barely touched the pre-owned non-x versions that were up for around $270. At that price, it seems like more people are into just getting a used steam deck or something for slightly more, but better performance.
