Would be good just for convenience. I have multiple smokers but with young kids, find it hard to find time to smoke or grill. This would make it a lot easier.

I had been kicking around the idea of one for convenience, but then I got a look at one of those 'surplus/returns' type stores that sells Costco/BJs returned items. It's small. I went in expecting it to be small, but it was even smaller than what I had anticipated up close and personal. For the amount of real estate the appliance takes up, I don't think it's worth it.

I have done a fair amount of research on this. It certainly doesn't smoke. But your place will smell smoky by a lot, do it in some sort of covered patio that seems to be best. Also some reviews say ash gets on the meat, not certain how often.

I have one and love it. It does not make our house or even our kitchen smell smoky at all. I have used it about 10 times, doing Tri Tip, wings, and ribs, and have had nothing but great results. I haven't done a brisket because it is a little small for anything over 10 lbs, and even then, you will most likely have to separate the point and flat on separate levels. But smoke is not an issue at all if you use it following the directions and clear the smoke before opening the door.

That's good to hear. How long have you had it on at a time? Those reviews threw me off.
