Bought the weed wacker and it says you can get lawn edger attachment so I'm assuming you can buy different attachments for this too

It appears this is the same tool as a DCST972 but as an edger. Unfortunately Dewalt doesn't sell the trimmer attachment, but since this works with the "universal' style attachments that's not a huge deal. Dewalt trimmer heads suck anyways. The slick setup is to find a busted attachment capable gas trimmer and steal the trimmer section off of it or look for an off season deal on one of the universal brand attachments or maybe a ryobi from direct tools outlet sales. I actually bought a 972 on ebay and then used an old string trimmer I had laying around on it.

I bought the Ryobi 40V brushed edger (Expand-IT version) from DirectTools for less than $100 with a battery and charger during one of their older 50% off sales. It works great. Sometimes, it shuts off if it bogs down. I would suspect the 60V would power through a lot. I use mine for edging the sidewalk and the concrete border holding in the rocks and mulch. The string trimmer is amazing also due to the dual strings and RPM.
40V is a gamechanger for the home yardener. I suspect DeWalt is for the commercial person who has a bunch of batteries and attachments.

I have the 60v power head, just not the lower edging attachment. Those are universal and I get whatever brand is on sale. As a weed wacker,, pole chainsaw, edger, hedge trimmer, and probably an attachment I forgot I had, this thing is a beast. I have even used it with 3 extension poles and a pole chainsaw to cut down high palm fronds. ( a lot of leverage, you'll feel it in your back….and dangerous,) It still handled business! Had a 80v greenworks pro power head before this, it's not even close, the Dewalt way outpowers it and is more ergonomic.
