I purchased this last year at this price. I am very surprised at the work it can accomplish. In one charge, I can easily trim 700 linear feet. It does feel cheap and lightweight, but it doesn't stop. Highly recommend at this price, especially if you're interested in getting into toro ecosystem.

I purchased this last year at this price. I am very surprised at the work it can accomplish. In one charge, I can easily trim 700 linear feet. It does feel cheap and lightweight, but it doesn't stop. Highly recommend at this price, especially if you're interested in getting into toro ecosystem.

Any experience with this compared to Kobalt? I feel like at this price point they are probably similar.

Are you able to swap attachments on this? Like swap the trimmer head for a pole saw attachment.

It could be a backup to get an extra 5-10 min on the single stage snow blowers in light snow, but those really 7.5+ah batteries to for a meaningful amount of time.

My Toro Snow Blower is 7.5 Ah. I doubt 2ah will last too long

I'm interested in everyone's thoughts about Toro versus EGO. I have the Toro super recycler battery mower that I bought two seasons ago. I bought it because I wanted to try to get into a single battery ecosystem as I convert all my lawn tools to battery. The Toro trimmer I believe took the universal attachments unlike most other brands. The Toro mower does a great job but the batteries are stupid expensive and I find myself constantly looking at the EGO tools and it seems like they really are expanding their lineup and you can get the batteries everywhere for reasonable prices.

Thoughts?

I've had this trimmer and a mower for about 5 years. The trimmer doesn't take standard heads (ie brush blades) which is annoying. They work great but there just isn't much tool availability (and even less on sale). I picked up some greenworks tools and I think I'm going to work on switching to them since I've had good luck (chain saw and pole saw/hedge trimmer). The only part I don't like about greenworks so far is the 3 different systems (40v, 60v and 80v).

Not this model. The attachment capable one was on sale at $149 over the weekend but only delivery available with a $79 fee. Now it is back to $249 and available with free ship to store or home.

The Kobalt 40V lineup is pretty comparable. The big advantage is that in Kobalt's lineups (24V, 40V, or 80V), you'll have a lot more tools to choose from if you want to expand beyond the basic blower, mower, and trimmer tools. Brands like Kobalt, EGO (my recommendation), Ryobi, etc. will be much more flexible and expandable than the limited Toro 60V lineup. I'd also be concerned if the Toro 60V lineup will stick around in its current form.

I'm concerned that the Toro Lineup will be like Echo and Husqvarna's earlier attempts in battery tools, and they'll abandon the 60V platform eventually for thier own platform. I'm not sure if toro has someone else manufacture the battery-powered lineup like Echo and Husqvarna did, then when the manufacturing agreement ended they abandoned that platform and brought it in-house with a new battery configuration. I'd highly recommend EGO over other platforms, and Chevron which owns EGO is the manufacturer and owner of the company and will stay commited to the 58V lineup they've been making for years. A much broader selection of tools is also available over Toro too. I have lots of Stihl and Echo commercial equipment, but i hardly ever touch it now since I've bought into EGO.

Fake news. This thing is cheaply made, will break easily and a 2 ah battery will be insufficient for even relatively small jobs. The strike through price on this is a joke. That's the price for a Milwaukee which is much better built
