I have a bunch on hand specifically for that. Wash them first- some colors shed like crazy. Depending on when they were actually produced/ shipped to your store, you may get the more recent, thinner towels

I use these inside my dog crate. He chews on them a little, so I get a few new ones whenever they're on sale. I always get a color unlike anything else in my house so I don't mix them up.

To me they are simply just too thin for a bath towel. I gave them a try, the Sonoma ones are much better

You're absolutely right, but i would still wash and re-use those unless exposed to something particularly tough like oil.
