These are advertised as trail running shoes, but I think the soles are pretty stiff for running shoes. That's probably because these are budget-priced shoes that don't have a separate rock plate, so they just made the whole sole stiffer than average. They work OK for me as light hiking shoes, but if you're looking for something for serious running or serious hiking, something high quality may work better for you.

These are advertised as trail running shoes, but I think the soles are pretty stiff for running shoes. That's probably because these are budget-priced shoes that don't have a separate rock plate, so they just made the whole sole stiffer than average. They work OK for me as light hiking shoes, but if you're looking for something for serious running or serious hiking, something high quality may work better for you.

I 2nd this..these shoes has just been sitting in my garage after couple of uses and got the same experience…

I had bought a pair of these a few months ago at a New Balance store. The "Fresh Foam" insoles are VERY NOISY as you walk, especially in quiet locations such as a hallway. I complained about the noise on the New Balance website. Finally I threw out the noisy insoles and replaced them with a Dr. Scholl's insoles. I'm happy with my now-quiet T510's.
