These things are serious workhorses. My dad has had one that he has used at least once a day for over 10 years and it still works like it's new. Highly highly recommend Vitamix

I see they are still making their blenders 9 feet tall.

Get a Blendtec. Hit a button and it does perfect mixing for whatever you're doing. Just as powerful or moreso. And it'll fit under standard height cabinets.

It's the OG vitamix blender. Last Oct it had a deal of $300. At this price, still worth buying.
