50¢ more and you get S2 steel on the bits. Otherwise the kits are the same.

These appear to be those shiny chrome-like plated bits. IMO, they are trash... and not worth $7.99. The plating is often uneven, and makes the sizing inaccurate for "precision" screws or torx. Get the uncoated S2 bits. That said, something is better than nothing.

This hardness concern comes up in every precision screwdriver thread.

But what many don't realize is that some of these screwdrivers are soft on purpose so they don't damage the screws.

I would much rather have to buy a new precision screwdriver than have to track down a replacement for some obscure screw, especially with how right to repair is almost non-existent these days and companies won't provide replacement parts.

Looks like an $8 precision screwdriver set for people who like junk. Better off spending $1 more and getting the HF set with the lifetime warranty.

Get the S2 version. Cheap steel bits break/strip very easily. S2 is much more durable ...

yes, how much screwing do you do that wear on the screwdriver bits is of a concern for you? And if you screw around so much, is $8 set really worth your time or would you rather spend on something that will last you a lifetime?

But then again, don't grunk on those tiny screws and you won't strip/round them...🤷

Some of those screws are just too small and fragile, even without any 'grunking'.

If it's something like an iPhone or Nintendo console where you can easily buy replacements, I wouldn't be too worried.

But on stuff where it's almost easier to just buy a replacement than source the screw, I definitely take my time.

I own this set and its actually pretty good and useful. It looks like i paid $10 two years ago. I mainly use it to unscrew the lids to change batteries in my kids toys. The screws on those lids are always really small. I've used it to do maintenance on my computer, tighten my hinge screws on my sunglasses. The included sim card key and tweezers have come in handy. Not bad for $8 really.

I have this set and have used it many times. The bits have not stripped or bent. I've used it to repair my Apple iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, as well as countless other electronics. For most of us DIYers, it's more than good enough.
