Shooting deals!

Thank you.
I bought these April 3rd, the last time they were on SD and they still haven't shipped. Amazon says they will ship on Saturday. I'm skeptical of their delivery dates.

I have this set, I have to wear earplugs with them indoors lol. I may have had unrealistic expectations, I thought these were a noise canceling headphone set but they aren't. I don't need the ability to speak with anyone when I'm shooting though if I did, this would be nice enough if I was shooting outside. My mistake for not understanding what they were before I purchased them.

100% unrealistic expectations for an indoor range.

Keep in mind that these only have a single mic. So that the sound you get in both ears it's the same. There is no sense of direction. This is fine for a static shooting at the range, but if you want to wear these while hunting or doing any kind of action shooting where having directional sound awareness would help, these are not the best choice.

Yea even walkers dual mic one is mono which is just bad, and the sound quality is degraded. Not the fault of the speakers because sound is good when using the aux jack. They really need to upgrade their circuitry. The quad is a maybe, but I haven't tried that one yet.

These don't provide any kind of active noise cancellation. They muffle sounds but have a microphone to allow you to hear ambient noise. It would be like any kind of noise canceling headset, but always set to transparency mode instead of noise canceling. It's probably the least ideal choice for air travel because you get no noise cancellation. You would be better off wearing a $.25 pair of foam plugs.
Yep the cheap passive ones are best if doing work. These wonn't cut down tool/machine noise, they'll transfer them through bad telephone style.

What abstractedpudding said plus over ear hearing protection tends to be pretty uncomfortable long term because they really clamp to your head to make a good seal. Now, you could use these as non-electronic by turning them off, that is the only way I could see them being useful in a plane but you might as well use earplugs or $5 'dumb' hearing protection earmuffs at that point.

I use a pair of the Walker's XCEL 500BT (like 5 steps above these) and they kinda suck for my zero turn. The mower is not quite loud enough to be filtered out by the hearing protection (which shuts off all sound anyway defeating the purpose), still use them when I need to monitor my phone as they are bluetooth enabled and allow me to listen to music....which these won't.
For the most part on my mower I actually like earpro with FM radio better. I got a pair in Walmart years ago (garden section) for $20-ish.

Thanks I appreciate the info. I tried one pair a few years back and the clamp force was too strong. I know it might need more time to adjust.

Regarding the clamping force, you can leave them overstretched something like a sofa arm or another large object for a few days, can loosen them up. Also, there are companies that make gel ear pads that also reduce the clamping sensation. Pretty sure you have to buy ones made for your specific ear pro though as loose fitting / generic ones will allow a lot of sound to 'leak' in.

Yep, the speakers rob space from padding so usually you lose some dampening. The passive https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YXPDDX1 one is only 15 right now and slim.

You can upgrade with more comfortable gel pads. Only worthwhile upgrade for non gun stuff is to get one with Bluetooth but I find you can wear most wireless Earbuds in these anyways as the inside is dished. The ones with speakers are flat inside, well the razers atleast.

Same with mine from Walmart. Newer version with buttons. I found funny the the grill is there for the second mic, but either either not installed or disabled.
