Have gripes with the company/release/price/etc.? Don't buy it. When you're on post 3 (of many) explaining how smart you are and how super dumb the 'nintendrones' are (oh, sick burn, do you write for John Oliver, bro?!), you should realize you're not spending your time productively. People will buy and enjoy this system, or they won't. The sun will still rise tomorrow.
Yes, they have similarities. However, they also have differences. They are not the same thing.
"All AMOLEDs are OLEDs, but not all OLEDs are AMOLEDs." They share the exact same base technology. The differences are minimal, especially when comparing to current gen OLED.

Right, this is correct.
Firstly, games didn't cost that much (at least in the US). They were more in the $40-50 range.
Secondly, almost 50% of the cost of the game was manufacturing. IE, making the case, chip, sitckers, boxing, etc. etc. Now, everything is on a $0.05 CD or digital, which drives the cost of just making the game down significantly.
Thridly, the profit potential of games now vs then are completely different. Back in the 80s and 90s, the gamer market was limited to nerds and kids. The estimated number of gamers worldwide was in the 10s of millions, maybe 100 million if you're being generous. Now the number is in the billions. The potential to sell your games have exploded and they are much more acceptable socially to get into than back then.
Forthly, advertisement and word of mouth is much easier to do now than back then given the internet.
Now, take games which are now cheaper to physically produce, sell, and market to an audience that is massive compared to what it was and you'll see that, yes, even though accounting for inflation back in the 80s games cost like $90 that they do today, that the market place is much more open for profit. Much, much more.
That take is a very superficial argument only nintendrones make. It takes no context into account and many people use it as some "gatchya" argument like it matters but in actuality it's a silly goose of an argument and it's better that you just pretend you never made it.
