Vote with your wallet. Buy it if you think what Nintendo is doing is okay, if this is how you want to be treated; the choice is yours.

That's fair - I'm hoping the thread is helpful though for those trying to get ahold of one and not have to pay over retail on any marketplace.

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks. Woke up at 11:56p, logged on to Target's app and found a $15 off $100, activated it, then refreshed the MKW combo page until I could order.

At midnight exactly, it showed all preorders were done and I was like "ain't no way" so I kept refreshing until 12:02, got the order in with a Pro Controller (not realizing my current Pro Controller would work) and back to sleep by 12:05 with the email showing my order was placed.

Thanks OP & SD.

I agree that $90 is a bit steep for first party games, but they should go on sale if you watch SlickDeals or wait until black Friday.

The hidden gem of the Switch is it's e-shop. There are literally thousands of indie games priced between $1.99 to $30, and a lot of them are must plays. Plus these games go on sale for even less money. You can tag games via a wish list and check back to see which ones are discounted.

If you pay for online support (I pay for the family account) you also have access to NES, Super Nintendo, Game Boy and GBA games as well. Also Nintendo Online is cheaper than online offered by Sony and Microsoft.

I was fighting on all the websites also and had tons of difficulty. Best Buy puts you in a que, but it took close to 30 minutes for you to get the option to buy. I almost gave up, but I was able to get the Mario Kart Bundle deal. Nevertheless, things are much harder to get today versus when I was the only one doing this back in the 90s and early 2000s. Online shopping makes pre-ordering very difficult.

True. but back then you had to go camp in front of the store overnight instead of be a keyboard/mouse warrior. I remember going to Circuit City at 9pm to camp overnight to get a PS2 at launch day. rained late morning around 4am. got to talk games with a bunch of guys waiting so it was an experience. I kind of miss it in a way but man it's also a bad experience laugh out loud

Gamestop went live accidentally around 10:30 AM EST on their app and some folks were able to checkout successfully but since then they have been OOS.

I got a preorder in at Walmart around 9 AM Central. Phew! Oddly, Affirm didn't show up as a payment option even though Walmart accepts Affirm.

Gamestop is such a smaller company and are likely bare bones with site infrastructure. don't expect to be able to preorder from there. You must walk into a physical store (although, this might be troublesome too). If you're in the westcoast, leave now and go to the store to get in line lol

Gamestop should have restricted these to only PowerUp Pro members, as they've done previously on other high demand items.

Walmart and best buy wad not bad at all. There was a line queue waiting with little effort. Target was a big mess with tons of errors.
