I have 2x8GB ram right now. How much of a performance drop in gaming will it be if I just upgrade 1 ram to 32GB and keep the other at 8gb?

depends on several factors like the speed and latency of the memory. If they are the same spec and run at the same speed/CAS and you're not trying to OC them, it might be perfectly fine. The caveat is that sometimes motherboards and CPUs can be sensitive to RAM type and brand and it's possible to get stability issues that have very little to do with the sticks being different capacity.

Okay I'll be the first one to say it lol

These will not work with Dell XPS 9500 or 9700 series.

Why? I do not know. Just thought I'd save you all a little buy and return headache.

Dell laptops usually do not accept gaming RAM. Which is funny bc it looks like an XPS 9500 in the pics

Why would you ask this question? The listing isn't for 1x32, it's for 2x16.

This isn't "gaming RAM". These are standard JEDEC specs, not something that's juiced with XMP. There's really no reason in general why they wouldn't work in those laptops, and that person could've just had gotten a defective unit.

Mister, not just myself but several other folks went through this. No, we did not get defective units. Just read up on it a little bit will ya? The reason why these don't work because they use a CODEC W24.2 standard w/ wafer rodder tinsel IC's. Just read up on it.

Anyone know if these can be used to clock an Atari VCS 800 at 3200mhz? The vcs is finnicky and the 2 recommended brands (Teamgroup and Kingston) no longer work/won't clock my system at 3200.
