Has anyone tried this? I've bought a few other air blower/dusters in the past, they were awesome, but within 6 months the battery wouldn't hold a charge and they're totally useless.

Never tried this mode. but usually, batteries should be good for much longer, especially these days

The batteries in them are pretty standard, usually 18650s.

Replacing them is fairly easy and you can probably even upgrade the capacity while you're at it.

The hardest part of it all would be if the connections are welded on, which will require a (roughly $20 on Amazon) spot welder. But many of them are just tabbed and the connectors slide off.

I have an older model from the same brand. It is awesome. It's much better than I was expecting in both power and battery life. I didn't think it could replace the canned pressurized air dusters, but I was wrong.

In for 1. Hoping it could replace the compressed air cans for quick-drying the IPA wash off my resin prints.
Fingers crossed, thanks OP.

I have this but without the extra attachments. I paid like 20 bucks on AliExpress. It's been very useful for electronics work. Keep in mind it's not nearly as strong as the bigger corded dusters. Those are legitimately too powerful at times though.

when I ordered it said 7 left for the black model over an hour ago. You can try a different color which is likely still in stock.

No - when batteries are constructed in packs, whether they are NiMH or Lithium Ion they get spot welded together, not soldered.

Well you're not buying a spot welder for 20 dollars. Anything labeled as that is a soldering iron. And a soldering iron will do the job.
