I've been waiting for this one because it has the larger sensor, better low light performance, better audio, longer battery, new AI chips for faster processing, and it can record both flat and 360 mode at the same time which the X4 couldn't. I don't have an X4 because I was worried about the lens getting scratched and not being replaceable, but the X5 has replaceable lenses now too so I placed the order.

I use the x4 to record two small kids activities at the same time.
I can reframe later and can get one kid specific video for each kid out of the same recording
It was a chore to always have to edit to get a video, but I've gotten much quicker at it with time, where it no longer bothers me.

battery is better and longer but if I have a bunch of x4 batteries, can I still use them; do they function? the website is not clear on compatibility because it lists the batteries separately and each one says X4 or X5 instead of X4/X5.

Stock going in and out. Got one after being denied twice at final checkout.

Anyone waiting for a better price obviously pays zero attention to what's happening in the world. These are going to cost $800+ in a week when the original supply is depleted in America.

X4 had serious overheating issues... Hope the new AI chips run cooler on this model.

It's nice to be able to take photos without having to frame the shot, so it's fun for travel when you want to get a bunch of photos but not be buried in you phone too much. Just snap a photo or two and reframe the best shots later.
