This is a lukewarm deal.

MSRP @ $39. Sold for $27-30 on sale regularly. (if you don't have prime for free shipping don't spend the extra $5 for shipping)

From perplexity.ai:

The reviews for the CMF by Nothing Wireless Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Earbuds reveal a generally positive reception for the price point, with some notable pros and cons:
Positive Aspects

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): The earbuds offer surprisingly effective ANC for under $50, reducing environmental noise by about 74%, which is comparable to more expensive models from Nothing. Transparency mode also works well to keep users aware of surroundings

.

Design and Comfort: The earbuds and their case are praised for stylish, minimalist design and comfortable fit. The case is noted for its smooth finish and unique features like a sliding dial and lanyard holes

.

Battery Life and Connectivity: They provide strong battery life (up to 35.5 hours with ANC off) and support dual-device connectivity, which is appreciated at this price

.

Value for Money: Many reviewers agree that for under $50, the CMF Buds pack in a lot of features including ANC, a companion app, and decent sound quality, making them a good budget option

.

Negative Aspects

Sound Quality: Opinions on sound are mixed. Some reviews highlight a strong bass emphasis that can overpower mids and vocals, muddying the sound in some genres, especially outside EDM or hip-hop. The bass can be adjusted via the app, but default tuning is bass-heavy and can reduce clarity

. Others find the bass weak and the overall soundstage narrow and uninspiring

.

ANC Limitations: While ANC is good for the price, it is not as effective as higher-end earbuds, particularly struggling with office noise and higher-pitched sounds

.

Microphone Quality: Call quality is decent but not outstanding, with some muffling and less effective background noise suppression in certain environments

.

App Issues: The companion app is helpful for EQ adjustments but can be temperamental, sometimes requiring re-pairing of the earbuds

.

Summary

The CMF by Nothing Buds are highly regarded as budget-friendly wireless earbuds that deliver good ANC, solid battery life, and a stylish design. However, sound quality is a compromise with a bass-heavy profile that may not suit all listeners, and ANC and mic performance are adequate but not exceptional. They are recommended for those seeking affordable earbuds with noise cancelling and decent features rather than audiophile-level sound or premium ANC

I never tried these but I do have the nothing neckband pro. I came out at the same time although not technically for the US market. Similar features and design but of course it's a neck band. I know they're not popular anymore but I think they're way more sensible.

Anyway I'm really impressed by it giving the price point. Multi point, ANC, transparency mode and a really cool knob that you can use. Which makes volume control really convenient.

It's tuned way too heavy on base but I just EQ it which it includes.

Yes they're pretty good I mean they're a feature-rich consumer facing budget product and they're really trying to penetrate market share here so it's very good value. There's some tough competition though. Soundcore p30i is regularly 30 bucks on Amazon sometimes 27. They have a better app and a longer warranty. Moondrop space travel is 25 or 30 bucks. Not as feature rich but it has ANC and that one has a reputation for being tuned for more serious listens.

But I'm not saying those are better I mean I think you'd be fine with any of those three options realistically for 30 bucks or less.

I have the nothing neckband pro and I think it's incredibly great value. It's very bass heavy. Most consumers like that. But it does have EQ in the app and if you're on Android there's a million options for EQ

Hey thanks. I'm really just looking for a decent cheap pair. I'll look in to your recs. I like Anker stuff and have their app for my sleep buds so I'll look there.

Any of these things have a decent transparency mode? It's nice to have with my AirPods on the train but not a 'must'
