He's right, that is what's called a CVP tag. It is a unique price tag for that specific box, typically applied to returns. It could have been a new return that the store did not have room for. Congrats on a killer deal, but nobody else will be able to buy one for that price.

I wouldn't even do that. These display models have 10s of thousands of hours on them already at full brightness. You will be lucky to get a year of use out of it without problems.
