Any idea if that coupon is for online orders or just in store?

If you buy a lot of paint it's worth setting up a contractor account. Anyone can get one (no license required) and you'll get a permanent discount better than this.

Assuming contactor and this or any discounts won't stack....

Saw a tip on instagram once that you can have it mixed at a later date. So if you buy it on sale, even if you don't know your color, you can bring it back to have mixed later. (I would confirm this with the store before purchasing, I never tested it out)

Yes, advertised discounts are for retail pricing.

Get the form from a store. I think they will want a company name, but you can just use your name + painting. The clerk can help you with the form.

If you buy enough paint with the contractor account to reach 40% discount, it's because you are a contractor. Nobody uses this much paint for one offs. Even if someone painted their entire mansion and their neighbor's they still wouldn't save 40% with the entry contractors account.

Can confirm. You have to be painting houses for years to get a deep discount. The discount rate are also variable dependent on how much paint you have purchased. Retail consumers are better off buying during these coupon events. Yoodge is spreading fake news.

Returning for tint & shake: I've done this for years. Even the box stores (Lowes & Home Depot) will do this without hassle because the paint sold in the store is exclusively sold by that store. Some stores will have limited stock if the paint base that is needed. Because of this, i will purchase at the available store even before knowing the colour tint that will be used. You do need to know which base and sheen that you will end with because those cans & price differ. Besides, if you're not ready to use the paint, you will want to have them shake it the week you plan to use it. When returning to have it tinted and shook, already have the colour selected, hand it to them and ask for it to be done. The mixing person doesn't care if you brought the paint, purchased from that chain store, in the door or pulled it off the shelf. For walking out of the store, either make sure someone at the door, customer service or checkout, acknowledges you coming in with the can(s). Otherwise you need some indication that you have already bought the paint- receipt or write the room name/ company name on the can lid with the date used.

A S-W contractor account is easy to setup, but is pointless if you're only buying supplies once yearly or less. For paint discount: You will get a little discount on all paints and supplies, but they have you select one paint line, for your primary used, and apply the greatest discount to it for the life of the account. Since the coupons don't stack with a contractor account, keep you name for the public account and use a business name of something associated for the contractor account. Both accounts can be listed with the same phone number for ease of remembering. You just need to tell them which account to apply the purchase to If looking up the account by the phone number.

Can anyone comment as to durability and longevity of Sherwin-Williams vs big box store beans like Olympic (Home Depot) or Lowe's (Valspar) deck stain. Is it worth more money? Or can anyone recommend any brand that lasts long and looks good to re-stain (solid color) a 20 year old deck that was repainted 3 years ago. No interest in stripping down and starting from bare wood.

SW is way better than big box store paint/stain, it's worth the premium price. And the in store staff tend to be way more competent. Just go in and talk to someone at SW and they'll get you what you need for your deck.
