I'm really liking my hyperX headphones, anyone have an opinion on the wireless headphones offered here?
If you like those stick with them. Wireless is good for people who constantly get up but in return you sacrifice some quality because the sound has to be compressed then sent via 2.4ghz. Corsairs are heavier than the hyper x.
For the regular retail price of almost $270 I expected better reviews for this headset. Is it worth getting this wireless gaming headset or would it be better off with something else for around $100 or slightly less?

Hyperx makes great headphones. The Corsair virtuoso headphones on the other hand are the worst headphones I've ever owned. I returned them after a week because of how uncomfortable the ear pieces are and how buggy the software was. The mic would randomly just stop working. I picked up some alpha S headphones after them and it was a night and day difference.
Reddit users seem to report very mixed qualities on Corsair refurbs. If true, these are more like open boxes at BB, rather than Apple factory reconditioned products

If you like your HyperX headphones… KEEP THEM. I used the wired Cloud II's for years. From 2015 through 2021. Then I upgraded to some wireless HyperX Cloud Alpha's. Expensive, but I tried these Virtuoso XT's. Bought some and still have them. I only use it when guests come over and they play on my other PC. They're heavy and lack the proper padding. Loose on my head (larger head than most people, too). Uncomfortable both on the headband and ear cup padding. Overall one of the worst headsets I've ever tried on. I felt bad returning them on eBay because I know as a seller it sucks to receive returns and lose money on it. And I got it for a great deal and figured resale value would hold since these aren't a yearly release. Anyway I digress. My Cloud Alpha's fit great on my head, are light, very comfortable for hours on end, and have comparable if not better sound quality than my wired Cloud II's (which was impressive). These XTs aren't great with sound quality because of the poor fit. I really wanted to love the corsairs too. Such great features. My HyperX lacks Bluetooth, which is a huge deal, but comfort and sound quality were worth prioritizing to me. I have a Bluetooth transmitter that I can use via my PC so it softens the blow.

I have both the "Revival" HS55 Wireless: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/r...1280-na-rv
And a "Refurbished" HS80 MAX: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/c...1295-na-rf
My understanding of the difference between "Revival" vs "Refurbished" is the former is closer to Open Box, where they only replace what's necessary and it may be missing non-critical accessories, whereas the latter is fully refurbished and includes everything. Personally both of my headsets were in practically new condition and included everything, so for the price they were excellent. The HS80 MAX gets ridiculous battery life, but the HS55 is a steal if you're looking for something cheap and wireless.

What is the difference between a Corsair certified refurbished product and a Corsair Revival Series product?
A Corsair certified refurbished product is different than a Revival Series product. Revival Series products go through a different testing process and do not come with accessories like a certified refurbished product.
Our certified refurbished and Revival Series products both deliver exceptional performance through meticulous refurbishment. The Revival Series, however, not only adheres to CORSAIR's sustainability standards but also supports conservation efforts with every purchase, contributing to Sailors for the Sea and One Tree Planted.

I have a big head, hyperX fits me fine and comfortable...this, isn't it...only upside is i got the company to pay for it to try, but I probably wouldn't spend my own money on this. Build quality feels excellent tho..round earcups might be a bit small for some.
I used to own these but brand new, not refurbished and they were ok. Not worth the $270 i paid for them back then. After a while i started having problems with the connection between dongle and headset, sound would cut off every now and then. Returned through microcenter protection plan. Then purchased Audeze Maxwells and never replacing these. These are something else.

The things you like about HyperX are typically what you will not like about Corsair. The build quality can feel great, but they're heavy and just not as comfortable as hyperX stuff, among the range of other connectivity issues users encounter. With headphones, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but if you're wanting to try something new and akin to what you like about hyperX, the Steelseries Arctis Nova 5 (specifically 5, not the 7) is awesome. Very light, phenomenal microphone performance, outstanding battery life, and solid sound at the price point.
The Revival Series seems to be a step below refurbished. Normally, you get the original box, instructions, etc, but with Revival Series, you get an earth friendly box (recycled cardboard) and no "non-essential" accessories, whatever that is. Basically, you're getting less than you would with new or refurbished. In their honorable mission to make money, oops, save the planet, you get something they'd normally recycle or trash, due to the original purchaser sending them back scratched or mildly damaged. It's a feel good product, at least for them and their goal of saving the planet. Still tempting at this price, but now I wish it was refurbished. It's kind of nice having the original box & all "non-essential" accessories.
