Won't even have to wait that long now that the chinese company YMTC has stolen all of Samsung's technologies and is flooding the market with NAND and DRAM. We might even get that cheap 128TB SSD Samsung was promising us back a decade ago in 2016.

NM790 with heat sink is $249 (https://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Inte...e0INT&th=1) which is the same deal I bit on in July 2024.TBW is higher on NM790 than the NQ780.
Which one should I buy? Compared to NQ780? Thank you.

The NM790 is by far the better choice here, especially for $10 more than the NQ780. Both models are DRAM-less, but the NQ780 uses inferior and cheaper QLC NAND chips (hence the Q in the model name). Long, sustained writes will slow greatly on the NQ780. The NM790 is TLC NAND, which everyone agrees is superior.
