Factory seconds is usually like a blemish on the stonewash blade or something. But last time I ordered a leak from woot, it was clearly a Chinese knockoff that was returned as an open package, very disappointed

Is this likely to be a scratch and dent model?

My experience was that other than the packaging, it seemed new.

Yes, you have to look at the specific model and typically the price point is a good indicator. The leek and the chive are made in their plant in Oregon.

You can filter based on the country of origin. Both the Leek and Chive, mentioned in this post, are made in the USA.

Difficult (or at least ambiguous) question..Google Gemini's summary:

Kershaw does not provide a specific percentage. However, for the Leek to legally carry the "Made in USA" label, it must meet the FTC's "all or virtually all" standard. This means that even if the raw steel originates internationally (like Sweden), the vast majority of the manufacturing value, including significant processing, assembly, and labor, occurs at their Oregon facility. You can be confident that it meets the legal requirements to be called Made in the USA.

The Leek is one of my favorite all time knives. Whenever I see it for $30-$40 I pick up a couple and give them away if I don't need it.

I love my Blur. I'd definitely be tempted to get another if this were the S30V version rather than 14c28n - but even then, $43 and change for this ain't bad (in 2025 anyway.)
