The P8 series has a trash modem, but honestly I wouldn't do that deal unless he got the P8 for like $100-150

Satellite messaging (T-Mobile Starlink is still not working on P8), improved cellular performance.

Also the P8 got neutered HW Gemini which only shipped to save Google from a class action about announcing they wouldn't deliver it.

If it goes through, I'm game. Will be nice to have a Tensor with a non-trash cellular radio in rural areas.

With GC that works out to $40 plus sales tax to upgrade.

I see that Google is selling it for the same price but with a $100 Google store credit. However, I looked at the trade in value for the Pixel 6A which was only $90 as compared to the BB $150

Tensor G2/G3 has good urban RF but weak rural RF.

Pixel 9 (G4) has improved rural RF.

It used the Exnyos 5400, which is a revised modem. Improved rural RF and better Satellite LTE support.

This is why P8 still can't use T-Mobile Starlink.
