American Express has an offer to Receive Extra Membership Rewards Points for Amazon Purchases after enrolling in offer and using your eligible card at Amazon. Offer varies by account with several examples listed below.

  • Spend $25 at Amazon, Get 500 MR (Up to 1,500 MR Total)
  • Spend $50 at Amazon, Get 500 MR (Up to 1,500 MR Total)
  • Spend $150 at Amazon, Get 1,200 MR (Up to 3,600 MR Total)

Offer Details:
  • Online purchases must be made at Amazon.com by 6/25/2025
  • Enrollment is limited. Eligible Card Members must first add offer to Card by going to the American Express website or Amex mobile app and navigating to the offers section for their card, then use same Card for qualifying spend.
  • Offer valid online only at US website amazon.com or through the Amazon app.
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.
  • Additional Membership Rewards points should be credited to your program account within 90 days after 6/25/2025, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.

I found a Reddit post from a similar deal a year or so ago that had the same terms. They reported it works with Amazon gift card reload and you don't need to do separate transactions. I just did $150 on my fiances companion card where she had the offer too. I had the $50 for 500 3 times. I'll report back with a data point if it gives me 1,500.

at $.01 a point, and 500 points for $50, That is 10% back plus any additional rewards from your card.

If you value rewards points at $.02 a point, then it is 20% back.

Chase Freedom cards are currently offering 5% on their quarterly rewards (April through June).

The Amex offer is better if you have both cards.

Anyone know if I have to spend it three times, or just the total...ie, instead of 3 $50 purchsses, just one $150?

Normally, I wouldn't ask this. But the Amex Apple Pay gave me the full $5 x 3, or $15, when I made a $150+ purchase recently.

The way it is written is a bit confusing. I got the "Spend $25 at Amazon, Get 500 MR (Up to 1,500 MR Total)." I assume that means three purchases of 25 or more to get the max 1,500 MR or just spend 75 in one and get 1,500 MR?

I did a $150 Amazon gift card reload yesterday and the 1,500 points posted already. I had the 500 for $50 3 times. So only one transaction needed
