Any idea who manufactures these? Price is in line with other reputable budget sd cards so not really slick deal. Generally the value propositions i see are PNY or Team Group.

Yes, they should, but you probably don't need the speed of this card and rather a micro SD card with increased live time regarding write cycles for that purpose, like from the SanDisk High Endurance series.

Amazon has a write speed of 150 MB and the SanDisk High Endurance has 40 MB write speed. The Amazon one is also being cheaper right now. Wouldn't the higher write speed be better for a security camera? Or is the build quality of the Amazon version bad?

The Amazon Basic's 150MB/s is peak write speed. For video recording, what's important is constant throughput so, minimum write speeds are more important and the Amazon Basic's card is only rated at V30, which is 30MB/s. The SanDisk High Endurance is also rated as V30.

Why the SanDisk High Endurance is better for security cameras is that they are constantly writing data, which introduces wear and tear. Most SD cards aren't created for that type of wear and tear and burn out faster. So endurance specific cards are better for security footage as they should last longer.
