Note that this 14' reach ladder is actually only 11' tall when fully extended so it won't be tall enough to safely climb onto your single-story roof and might not even be tall enough to get you to your gutters.

Werner website says: "Straight Ladder Length 13ft" and "Extension Height 7ft to 11ft", not sure how to interpret? I get the reach stat adds in the height of an average person, but how can it be both 11 and 13 ft?

Ladder lengths are confusing. Extension ladders are referred to by the sum of the lengths of each extension. For example, a 20' extension ladder will be two 10' sections, but due to the overlap of the sections will actually be only 17' tall when fully extended. I'm guessing that's where they're getting their numbers from. The 11' max length is equivalent to what a 13' extension ladder would be (if one actually existed that was made of two 6.5' sections with a 2' overlap).
I wish they'd just drop the confusing measurements and refer to them all by the maximum ladder length.
