pH is neutral for granite cleaner, all purpose cleaners are not. Neutral won't dull the surface over time by slowly eating away at the sealant, or worse, etching the rock.

Quote from TheCBB :
I have a random, but related question, since there is a thread about granite. I recently started developing a 6 inch long crack in my countertop, running along the middle of the thin spot in front of the undermount sink. Anyone have any experience with this? I am thinking maybe there is some sort of sealant resin that can by applied that will flow down in it to kind of seal the crack. Not only to hold it together, but also prevent water from going down in there and making it worse. Any advice is appreciated.
Had the same problem. It's caused by the backing steel rod under the granite getting moisture and rusting, which causes it to expand over time and eventually crack the granite.

There's a company called sureshine that has some videos on YouTube of how they fix it. I shopped around and found a local guy with lots of experience doing just that type of repair. If you want it to last, they have to cut out the granite, take out the rusty rod, re-install the granite, blend it in to match, then apply caulk. It's been good as new for 5 years.
