Maybe a hot take, but i think this game may be the best in the Castlevania franchise. Less RPG elements than the metroidvanias, but much more exploration than the traditional styled games

Maybe a hot take, but i think this game may be the best in the Castlevania franchise. Less RPG elements than the metroidvanias, but much more exploration than the traditional styled games

You'd be surprised how many people agree with you. I've never played it, but was just looking into it and that's not actually a very hot take.

Should I play the first one before this? How many hours are we looking at to complete?

I played this on the 3ds and it's a competent game... The main issue I have with it is that there's instant fall death.

So if you're jumping and falling around like super castlevania 4 or symphony of the night, you'll die.... A lot. I stopped playing it because of that

Castlevania LOS 1 and 2 were some of my favorite Xbox 360 games. This seems to be different. The others played like an ARPG (like God of War) this looks to be a different gameplay?

As a big Castlevania fan I wanted to like this game, but I think it's pretty bad. It does play competently however, so at this price you really have nothing to lose to try it. Being that some people seem to like it, maybe I'll revisit it.
