I have a bunch of Craftsman batteries ranging from 1.5A to 5A. The 5A offers good longevity but it makes the tool so much heavier compared to a 2A battery.

Never craftsman for me. I remember buying their c3 kit and a few months later they discontinued the line leaving me and others with a bunch of tools and no batteries any more. Never.

I've had C3 for years, 15 tools and a dozen batteries (Li-Ion) and ni-cad prior to that. Now, if I need something, it's V20, but, I am not getting rid of my C3 stuff.

The larger ones work well on the outdoor tools, the heavier battery is better for balance holding the tool such as a leaf blower, edger or string trimmer..
