idk if they still are, but OLFA used to be actual Japanese steel. I have 3 diff cutters and the blades take a very long time to dull, 3x longer than regular cutters.

Yep, still Japanese, the ones I recently got were marked/stamped as such. The only thing that threw me off was different packaging design (thought they might be fakes) but OLFA customer support said it was just their Asian-market variety

I'm such a sloot for japanese goods that I can't help but give this a go.

To be fair I have a cheap chinese bulky snap-off razor knife from the dollar store that I've been using for like 8 years and have only popped out 2 segments... It's a perfectly fine tool.

Just be aware that these knives come with stainless blades (2) which are on the softer side, I bought a 50-pack of their premium carbon steel blades a couple weeks ago

My receivers, turntable, magnetic cartridge (turntable's needle) (Denon), kitchen knives, rice maker (zojirushi), and the distorton box EVH used in early albums, and who knows what else, all Japanese. They make good sh1+. Also, breadmaker, double-walled tumbler (both zojirushi), and.some high rockwell screwdriver bits.

I recommend to also pick up their Ultra Sharp ABB blades package that has a container that will hold 10 spare blades AND also has a blade snapper and used blade storage/disposal all in one for $5.
