A weber 22' kettle/smoky joe is both cheaper and better for grilling as those have a lid, airflow control, and are at a better working height.

The only use case i can think of for this is if you just need a fire pit and you like the aesthetic which is valid.

Working height will be uncomfortable if you're grilling for more than 2 people and have to be around that fire for some time

can you actually grill on it? I'm talking steaks. Considering as a mixed purpose pit to put on the patio for occasional grilling and fire watching.

Never used one but other more expensive brands out there and yes, you can cook on them. However as someone who wanted a cheap grill last year, I bought a small unit and man, it stinks squatting on the ground to cook.
