My pest company uses things similar (probably exactly the same) to these for our garage. I would plan on using them as more of an "indicator" than a "trap". We have them in different places (each side of the garage door/next to vents) throughout the garage and give a good indication of where bugs are coming from.

Fyi, if you catch a frog/lizard on the trap and want to release it, pour some vegetable oil on the trap and try to get the oil under the critter and it will release. My pest guy showed me this on a lizard that got stuck, he kinda had to smear some under the lizard with his finger, but came right off.

(not avail in CA also)
Once I caught a frog in one of these types of traps, I stopped using them. I got him out, but it was a big pain in the ass.

I use these in the basement. Bought a 4 pack years ago and they are all very full of bugs. Guess I can afford another $2 for a few more years of service.
I wouldn't put them in my garage for the same reason as the poster above. Toads find their way in and I doubt I could remove one without it being extremely unpleasant for both of us.
