I find it amusing that these emergency foods are pictured with parsley and other toppings on a set table in gleaming cookware.

Shouldn't they be shown cooked in a tin can over a fire of pillaged library books?

When will someone need this? Maybe when natural disaster hits or another pandemic? In 2020 people were panic buying canned foods, shelf stable foods which in hindsight wasn't really necessary for some

Unless you have some inside connection at the DOD, MREs are way more expensive, Tried going that route for backpacking food for large groups (10 boys plus leaders) and the difference was huge.

I mean we were still getting Grubhub during the pandemic... This would be more for a prepper scenario like civil war or nuke or EMP and in those scenarios you will need a firearm and ammunition not this bucket. I think most people just end up using them for camping.

Yeah they are definitely more expensive but if you are buying them for emergency survival situations I think the extra cost is worth it. If you are just going camping then yeah an MRE is overkill.

MREs currently go for 50$ a case on ebay, you get 12 meals.
