Upon checking with customer support online, this does require 60 days of uninterrupted service to get unlocked. Also for someone who already has a line active, adding a new line can get the $60 plan for $40 or lower (with auto pay).

Also. embracing for the time machine jokes, I still think 16e 128gb at $299 for the phone, was a better deal and might come back - far superior processor, 8gb ram, Apple AI support, longer os update support, convenient usb-c port instead of lightning etc. These far outweigh the potential advantages from 14 plus - 256gb, dual camera, magsafe, larger screen size etc for me.
Not true for everyone/every use case, agreed. YMMV
Is this something where you can get the device, pay a month, and then bail? And if so, could the phone be unlocked? (Sorry, if this is an ignorant question, I'm a noob.)
Yeah, the policy changes since April 1st has caused a lot of confusion. I purchased the 16e precisely on April 1 and despite the policy changes being published after I bought and they are not the same for Verizon prepaid as for mnvos, I am still going to recharge another month for my 16e, given it will need me to pay ($60 - $25 monthly discount on 16e deal - $10 from auto pay = $25) only. If I don't pay for the 2nd month and Verizon refuses to unlock in lack of 60 days of service, then worst case, I will have to pay for another consecutive 60 days at a much higher rate since I will loose the $25 discount. So, for $25+tax more, I am willing to pay to avoid any such risk.
YMMV

Anyone successfully check out using Paypal? I got "your cart is empty" after signing into paypal.
Yes I had the same issue, tried 4-5 times and gave up, went with credit card.(I think you were going for the same - paypal 5% cashback via chase.)

Are you more in this for the phone or are you more interested in switching to Verizon prepaid in perpetuity? I don't know how the plan costs compare, but you should do the math on that.

If you are more interested in this deal to just get the phone, and then add it to your existing Verizon (I'm guessing postpaid) plan, I guess I'd see if you were eligible to open a prepaid account (I don't see why not). The Verizon Prepaid plans can be opened in a corporate store, so just make sure to call around Verizon stores and ensure it's a corporate store before going in store. At most you'd have to wait 60 days for the phone to unlock. Or maybe a Verizon Prepaid phone is compatible with Verizon Postpaid from day 1.

Edit to add: now that I've scrolled down I see your other comment that you are more interested in this deal for the phone alone.
I am transferring my current postpaid account to this new phone on day one. Do I just lose the $60 airtime? Is there anyway I can use it?

To get this device for the $250 deal price (or $300 for the 512GB model), the only requirement is to buy it with one month of the $60 Unlimited (or the $65 Unlimited Plus) prepaid plan. There is absolutely no requirement to stay on "for 10 months at the minimum" in order to have and keep the device at the deal price. So, out the door, it's $310 or $360 (+taxes/fees) for the device and one paid month, total.Again, you do NOT need to remain with VZ Prepaid for any more than the one paid $60/$65 month to get and keep this device at the deal price.
So after one month, I can get it unlock also? Thank you.

Update on my situation. Transferred perfectly from my wife's old iPhone to this iPhone and carried over the eSIM no issue (she's on a Verizon postpaid plan). Gonna kill the line I set it up for before the next billing cycle. Set a reminder to check if it unlocks in 60d. We shall see.

299 for phone
60 for plan
around 60 for taxes. Ouch.

Doesn't seem to allow unit/apt input for address even after multiple refresh.

How's their $60 plan? Is it comparable to Visible base or is it more like Visible+?

Tax is $65!
Tax was quite a surprise. Charging state and local taxes on its breakdown. Never seen it this high before for any other product.

Interesting. Tax/fees for me was only $25.xx. The itemized listed the State tax and the emergency services fee.

Probably want to ask Verizon customer support about "losing" the airtime. I am inferring that what you want to do is use the value of the prepaid plan month toward the cost of a future month of service on your Verizon postpaid plan by the question you asked, and I don't think that's possible. But all you'd lose by asking someone who can give you an official answer is the time it takes to ask a Verizon customer support rep that question.
