Can you swap out the HD for something bigger?
Yes, it has M.2 2242 SSD, that you can upgrade up to 4TB.

I'm currently using m4 air and I got rid of 7x. However for many people 7x would be better because they might be more comfortable with windows and it has a much better screen for content consumption. Also $600 is half the price of 15" M4 air 16/512GB.

Perhaps but personally I prefer a typical x86 windows based system without potential snapdragon issues. $600 gets you plenty of computer.

The only benefit I see with these Snapdragon (non x86) processor options is the massive battery life despite having oled screens. But in college I could plug in my laptop, so I didn't need that extra few hours of battery life.

I am about to order it, but it doesn't support thunderbolt I guess. Does it matter?

I will use an external monitor with one single usb-c cable with this which seems capable, and I can't think of any benefit of thunderbolt for now.

Great laptop. I bought it for ~$750 new. Amazing screen, love the form factor. Keyboard is fine.

- Touchpad is ok, not the best, gets confused with multi finger interactions, scrolling, not a huge deal.
- Window on ARM has camera or sound issues every now and then and requires a reboot

Printer drivers were a bit of pain but was eventually able to get all printers working.

It's also super quiet and cool. No fans coming on and blowing air, or heating up your lap, which I love beyond just the battery life improvements. When in battery saver, performance can stink sometimes, and 50% of memory is assigned to graphics so gets used up relatively quickly.

Unfortunately still a crappy CPU since it's not x86 with its decades of software library. This should be sub $400 in the high-end Chromebook range because that's essentially what it is an expensive chromebook.

i have this laptop. With browsing all day, it lasts me the whole day and a little more the next day. Solid 8hrs. By far the best laptop battery experience so far. People say you get 12-18hrs. I don't know about all that but it's great.
Same experience here. Great battery life. Only a few issues and I assume it's related to certain things not working natively on ARM most likely. All of my software from x86 are working on it though--some apps take a little longer to open and connecting to my home printer takes around 5sec where my x86 laptop would take like 2sec. Touchpad needs some firmware updates to improve 3-finger multigesture, basically you sometimes get unintended gesture controls--maybe because its too sensitive? Not really sure but there are workarounds. Basically when I scroll with 2 fingers, it sometimes thinks I'm doing 3 fingers because I'm probably making 3 points of contact somewhere but that wasn't my intention. You get used to working around the quirk of being exact with your gestures but it's not ideal and I feel like software could improve it quite easily but I have my doubts that lenovo will address it. You could just turn off 3-finger which is what I did and use the 4-fingers option for switching apps/desktops.

Very happy with this laptop overall. I had tested it side-by-side with I7 258v (so 2x the ram) and I still chose the snapdragon. The fan on the ARM rarely turns on and rarely does the laptop get warm vs the 258v which I had the opposite experience. Intel's 258v was made by TSCM and probably Intel's best laptop chip at the moment too. Yes native software compatibility is potentially an issue for some if you go with ARM so I do recommend installing all your software right away to test. Everyday users should be fine though.

If you're a gamer, skip this laptop as it's still not great for gaming. All the ARM reviews state this.

Just Google any specialized software that you plan to use and make sure it works on ARM. Nearly all everyday-user software work fine on ARM.

Why do these go on open box sales every other month? Are they having a hard time getting people to keep them?
