Buy the right tool for the job and you won't be disappointed.
I tried one of these out for a week, and if I really didn't want to have music recording software on the go I probably would have kept it. The OLED panel is simply stunning - best I've ever seen on a laptop, even at "only" 90Hz. Keyboard is great, deep travel, even if it isn't as clicky as I would like. Stayed silent for me and I could only feel a little bit of warmth. The weight is pretty close to a MacBook Air too, even though this has a much bigger screen.
Only real downsides: trackpad isn't haptic and is kinda loud (if you tap to click it isn't a problem); speakers are pretty good but definitely lack bass; and yeah, snapdragon. Look, do your research on whether programs you need will run, but I'm really bored of the "snapdragon sux" pseudo-techie argument here. Every chip has its upsides and downsides - the new Ryzens are in like 3 laptops, hard to find, and still run hot. Lunar Lake is great unless you need a multicore application ever and you're still praying that Intel stays on top of their video drivers. I still say that for many users a snapdragon machine will be just fine - I suspect people are more scared of the idea of incompatibility than are actually running into issues. I will say that people keep talking gloom-and-doom about these instead of embracing them for what they are, will keep development (apps and chips) and sales down and will guarantee it will die. There weren't many apps when the first iPhone came out, yet people embraced it and the rest is history.
