Replaced it with a netgear RS600, returned that within hours as netgear is pulling shady shit with DNS and VPN client, where you can't setup a VPN client without subscribing to a DNS provider of their choice OR use a free service that you have to resubscribe to every month. Their UI is atrocious and slow af.
Then tried an ASUS BE92U which I also returned. Definitely noticeably slower on certain loading activities than the BE800. And if you run a VPN client the router becomes unstable. It will have random reboots and connection drops for all connected devices, not just those running through the VPN client. Also noticed CPU cores randomly hitting 100% under no unusual load, I thought this VPN related, but was also be happening with VPN client(they call it VPN Fusion) turned off. With VPN running it seemed to be core 3 that was maxing, with VPN off it was core 1 now having that behavior. Supposedly this is fixed with later firmware and running it in eco mode, none of the 4 firmware updates that occurred in the 14 days I had it fixed it.

It seems none of the manufacturers have solid consumer wifi 7 devices yet.
In reading the other complaints.
In general most consumer routers especially cutting edge models have cooling issues. This is extra problematic if you tax the router hardware. The issue I have in general is most routers feel overpriced and even the typical high end brands tend to have problematic wifi 7 hardware.
I have use both the BE800 and GE800 units in multiple locations. None have failed yet. I have backup routers for the locations because many have voiced concerns of hardware failure. Then again almost all wifi 7 routers are listed as problematic. Quality 6e routers still seem pricey.
It would be nice if people listed which router they bought and the price if they think other models offer better value. The GE800 unit is nice because the fan seems to help the reduce the risk of overheating. On the other hand not every home needs such a highend beast of a router.
My only gripe with it is that the fans can get loud if you do not keep dust and/or pet hair out of it. And it's goofy looking, moreso than most "gaming" routers.
I got this after trying 2-3 other routers. This one checked all the boxes for me. It was $500 when I got it last July which I was happy with for what I got. $350 is much better.
The first one even died out after 1 year of storage. And for security too, this Chinese brand is questionable. I won't recommend this brand.
I have a similar issue with wifi 7 Deco mesh unit. I have had to replace 3 satellite units as it would completely die out for no reason (standing alone a well ventilated area). Have lost faith in TP with the mesh system and looking for another one. And the issue has occurred within 6-8 months of purchase of unit.

Another option is to just go with a UDM 7, which is their all in one. It costs less than this router, but only comes with one 10g SFP+ port.

They will give you beta firmware to try and it may or may not fix the reboot issue, and could introduce other issues. So, I decided to wait, for now.
I am running an Asus GT-AXE16000 that I paid $700 for in 2022. It has been rock solid. I switched to Sonic 10Gbps fiber and discovered that the Asus router has one flaw: it sometimes fails to get an IP from Sonic for several minutes (~20 minutes), which was why I was looking at upgrading to this TP-Link model. The Asus doesn't have wifi7 but I have a wired backbone throughout the house anyway so not an issue for me.
