I bought this as open box "good condition" from BB. The best $1199 I've ever spent. TV only had 1 hour of use. I watched Dark Knight UHD and was blown away. Even At 2000 this tv is a good deal. The box it came with was HUGE. Brought it home in a 2010 Honda Pilot with 1 friend to help. Pull the trigger.

Next up is 1993 Tombstone in UHD Dolby Vision. "I'm you're Huckleberry."

TV gurus - is this a good one? $2k for 83" OLED seems good, but i don't track OLED prices
After researching to the point of madness, I purchased this from Costco 3 weeks ago. When you buy the B4 83", you are essentially buying a C4 83". It has all the same internal components as the C4 in this size. You will be amazed if never owning an OLED TV. If you are on the fence, just do it.

I got my 77" C1 a couple of years ago for $2k at Video Only (California), would have jumped on this if I were in the market.

Not sure if CX vs B is that different. Is there any data to indicate B series is brighter than CX?

Instore same price $1999.99 but no $100 Costco cash card and you have to carry the TV to home.

FYI: The extended warranty/protection plan is a joke. For about two months now I've been trying to get my 65" Samsung S95B (from Costco) repaired. Repair turned into a failed repair, turned into a "replacement", but the only replacement option I've been given is a $350 Hisense QLED. When I asked for a review it's "we'll contact you within about 24hr." They didn't. When I called again they tried to tell me that the Hisense was a "newer, upgraded" version of my Samsung. I told them that's patently false, they need to give me a more comparable OLED option. Now I'll wait another "1-2 days", probably without any follow up. Tempted to grab this and just unload whatever nonsense they end up giving me but hesitant knowing the extended warranty is pretty much pointless

Does anyone know what webOS this model operates on? The new Xbox streaming app works on OS 6 or better, as far as I understand.

Is the 83B4 an upgrade over the 83C1?

Not a fair comparison. The B4 review uses Rtings' latest, more strict, testing method (v2.0), while the C1 review uses the prior testing method (v1.11).

The relevant portion of the comparison are the brightness numbers:

Hallway Lights (~1950 cd/m²)

647 cd/m²
639 cd/m²
Yellow Skyscraper (~700 cd/m²)

467 cd/m²
369 cd/m²
Landscape Pool (~300 cd/m²)

258 cd/m²
142 cd/m²
Peak 2% Window

685 cd/m²
751 cd/m²
Peak 10% Window

675 cd/m²
747 cd/m²
Peak 25% Window

509 cd/m²
412 cd/m²
Peak 50% Window

328 cd/m²
277 cd/m²
Peak 100% Window

147 cd/m²
131 cd/m²
Sustained 2% Window

678 cd/m²
729 cd/m²
Sustained 10% Window

666 cd/m²
725 cd/m²
Sustained 25% Window

501 cd/m²
392 cd/m²
Sustained 50% Window

326 cd/m²
263 cd/m²
Sustained 100% Window

144 cd/m²
125 cd/m²

They are similar - the C1 wins in specular highlights, while the B4 wins in sustained 25% window and larger due to less aggressive ABL.

This reflects positively on the B4 because the C1 is a higher tier at a higher price point. Still, it looks like changing from C1 to B4 is a side-grade.
