Yes make up your own ending or read some fan fiction. Definitely will be better than the rushed mess they put out. Didn't stay true to characters, development or motivations at all. It was kind of like the star wars prequels. Anakin gets told his wife will die. Hasn't even died yet and five minutes later he's killing children. Scratching my head about that still. That's basically the treatment many characters in GOT recieved.

No it was because D&D were offered the next Star Wars trilogy. HBO wanted at least two more seasons beyond season 6 but D&D rushed the ending so they could get that sweet Disney cash. And they lost out on that too.

Actually I went to fact check and couldn't find anything to support what I said.

I do know and confirmed that Iranian hackers stole 1.5TB of data from HBO and ransom demands were made. I was one of those who couldn't wait and watched all those leaked plots from YouTube. For a while, those leaked plots were dead on, but they were dead wrong on season 8 ending.

If you never read the books or go to fan sites you'll probably enjoy it fine. The last season was clearly the worst, but if you are just watching it one after the other and not scrutinizing each episode for a week I don't think you'll notice the drop-off as much.

I kept hoping for an extended edition where you saw Anakin killing all the children, but sadly, we didn't get to see limbs and stuff coming off. Episode 3 is the best of all the prequels, it's the 7,8,9 that are complete crap. The ending of game of thrones didnt bother me all that much, what did bother me was how the battle of the white walkers ended up.

Probably wrote himself into a corner at this point. There are so many subplots all over the place, no way he can wrap up the series within 2 books. The problem is he isn't even trying to finish it. You're probably right that he has no intention on finishing it.
