I feel like every thread there's a comment to this effect, yet I never see these better deals that supposedly exist out there.

It is generally considered a lackluster upgrade, as was the 13th and14th gen, not just because AMD destroys intel when it comes to gaming, but even their previous gen 14700k beats it in several tests.
Not all bad. It still does ok with gaming, very well in most productivity, consumes less power than previous gen- and since intel's newest CPUs are considered a dud, can be found at a cheaper price/performance then several AMD rivals.

nobody should ever spend this much money for an 8gb GPU, let alone the worst one
