Pharmacist here. I prefer loratadine as it's slightly less anticholinergic than cetirizine. For chronic use loratadine is less drying (eyes, mouth), and less likely to affect memory, cognition than cetirizine. Whatever you do, stay far away from Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for regular use. Risks there are very well established.
The government (e.g. military, FDA) has an ongoing program called SLEP [wikipedia.org]which evaluates effectiveness of drugs past expiration. by in large most drugs are still "good" WELL past their official expiration.

Cantrell et al,5 in another study, tested medications that had expired 28 to 40 years earlier that were discovered unopened and in their original containers at a retail pharmacy. Twelve of the 14 active ingredients were present in at least 90% of the labeled amount, meeting our standard of acceptable minimum potency. Given these data, it seems that many labeled expiration dates do not reflect true longevity.

Now would I take drugs years old? Not preferably, but for something like this where the worst that would happen is you get some allergy symptoms, sure.
How are you gonna use 1800 tabs before expiration

Does the expiration date on medicine really mean anything?

I'm using 10-year-old diphenhydramine still successfully. For a family of 4+ you could easily go through this in a few years.

For something available that cheap, I'd replace it. There are some drugs that degrade into toxic substances with heat and time.

For most medication 2years is my cut off, but you could go more/less, depending on scenario

Awesome deal and thanks for posting. $16.20 shipped for 5 is my total. That includes sales tax and the 5% upcharge for non-members. They upcharged me 5% of the full amount rather than 5% of the discounted amount, which jacked up the price a little. Still a steal at $3.24 out the door per 365 tablets. By far the best deal ever for these.

There's a lot of evidence that loratadine (Claritin) just does work as well as Cetirizine (Zyrtec) for the general population. If it works for you great, but don't just blindly stock up.

Aller-Tec is $11.49 and presumably gets the same 5 item discount.
