Can you not use the touchscreen? Thats how it worked on the 3ds/ds

It's a touchscreen. Can't you just type on the onscreen keyboard?
it does take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's not bad. My 7 year old uses it quite effectively.
it's WAY better than using the joystick to scroll around a qwerty keyboard
