This does not come with a garden hose.
It is expensive, but this is probably the closest to a buy for life as I can get for a garden hose reel. I've had one for years and it still works and looks like it did new.
There are some upgrades you can add to make it hold more feet of hose, or add two more wheels.

Before I bought this, for 10 years I had already replaced 4 of those box style reels that were between $100-200 each. They eventually leaked or the plastic broke. I only got 3 years out of those before they weren't worth keeping any longer.
Essentially - I figured I'd look for a "buy it for life" option after the last box reel exploded and found this on reddit. If I could add up all the box style reels I'd had, I probably spent over $400.

I still have old school Craftsman Black Rubber hoses to go with these.
Going to order a post mount and 75' of hose as I'm all out of the Craftsman Black Rubber hose.
