Exact same situation. Subscription ending soon, and didn't want to autorenew at $80, so decided to cancel.

Got the $19.99 offer while cancelling.

See attached.

Did not work on this end. However, my subscription is ending November 2025. I went to cancel the subscription and did not get the renewal pop up for $19.99
Oh well, I guess I will look again around Black Friday for a Peacock deal like last year's $19.99

Calling something "Premium" and including advertising just sits wrong in my head.
I did the 1 yr $20 subscription last summer (3rd week of June) to get the Olympics, but coverage by NBC was pretty poor for the only sport I care about.
The days of "every event, every level" Olympic coverage are long gone from NBC. Plus, the audio/video sync for all their sports has been really poor the last few months. It starts out synchronized, but over the hour of an event, drifts farther and farther apart. After just a few minutes, the audio is over 30 seconds off and it keeps growing.
I wasn't going to cancel until 30 days out from the end of my agreement. There's basically nothing on NBC worth $20/yr to see. The Olympic Channel does cover a sport I enjoy and can't get legal access to any other way, but I've noticed they only show the "finals", not the "preliminaries" or "Semi-Finals" of the sport now. There was a meet about 2 weeks ago, so this is happening now.
Since this sport is a summer sport, it will be 3 more years before the next Olympic cycle happens, so I just can't see paying $5/yr for commercials and less than 50% coverage of the sport I love. I'll just setup a VPN into Canada and watch it on CBC instead. They cover it fully, last time I checked and the VPN costs are tiny - just 0.007/hr used and since I spin up the VPN just for the hours needed, it usually costs less than $0.20 a weekend to see everything. That's what I call "slick".

If anyone has trouble with securing the deal after cancellation, get with Peacock Customer Service via chat. (This assumes you have a Peacock account with a login). They assisted me with the deal, and I am sure they can help others. Easy process for me. Oh, and the deal requires your annual payment via credit card, not being billed for Peacock by your TV provider).

How much extra is for a year of ad-free upgrade?
$120 extra :-/
It's a plan change, not an upgrade I guess, so the discount doesn't carry over

Could you reinstate your plan, and try cancelling again?:
Mine expires on 5/5 so I reinstated, waited about 10 minutes and tried to cancel. I got a deal for 49.99 which is something I had not received in the past but obviously higher than what everyone else is seeing. Cancelled fully again so going to try again later and see what happens.

Does the offer show up on the first cancellation page, or after you click cancel for the second time?

Mine showed up after I hit cancel plant the first time. It gave me an offer to stay for 49.99 instead of cancelling with the usual "cancel plan" option right under it. I cancelled rather than choose the 50 buck option.

I'm trying now a second time. I waited a little, reinstated and now watching a full show episode before I click cancel again and see what happens.

Was the $19.99 offer on the first page when you click cancel, or did it show up the second time you click cancel on the "Are you sure you want to cancel your plan?" page?

For me, as soon as I clicked "Cancel Plan" on the account Plans & Payment page, the offer showed up.

Mine renews in less than a month and it canceled my plan. Nailed it. Will resubscribe later during a deal with a different email.

Did try again and got another 49.99 offer. I did try the chat as mentioned up thread and they said that because mine was originally a 39.99/year offer it probably is going to get a different offer than others and that the chat person could not give me any other offers. Basically, take it or leave it at 49.99 instead of 79.99.

What's strange, is that my account page also showed a $39.99 plan, even when I paid $19.99 last year (verified by my credit card statement), before I clicked cancel.

Maybe if you offer proof that you paid only $19.99, Peacock chat might reconsider the offer.

See attached.

According to the WIKI, you may try reinstating your subscription, and wait until around 30 days before expiration, and try cancelling again.

Or maybe reinstate, and wait for that email from Peacock warning of the auto-renew, which is what reminded me to cancel.
