Really great games. Bought them years ago and found them exactly the right level of challenging - hard enough to really make you think but not hard enough where you "screw this, where's a spoiler".

2nd is my favorite. 3rd and Old Sins felt like they expanded a bit to much. 1st's puzzles were tightly crafted but was a bit short.

The House of Da Vinci series has some similar game mechanics and puzzles. I haven't played them enough to say if they are anywhere near as good as The Room series.
