I'd rather see the DOS binary instead of looking at this crappy display.

What display do you want? My objection with this model is the weight. The point of the CPU is to be mobile, but not at 4+ lbs.

This should be like $400-$500 at most to be a slick deal. My friend got a 16" gaming laptop for $1200 for much better specs 2 year ago. A 3050 can only run at 1080p and become a fireball for games.

No offense to the OP, or any luckier Asus fans, but FYI / FWIW - My 4/16/2025, Asus Vivobook S 15 review on Best Buy:

I kept getting the Blue Screen of Death.
The Geek Squad "FIXED it" THREE times, but shortly after I got it home, same thing, BSOD!
Sent it into the Asus service center, and when I got it back 15 days later, got BSOD twice within 4 minutes.
They said the warranty does NOT include any replacements or refunds.

I will never buy another Asus product. And will avoid buying from Best Buy also.

PS - This is the one I bought:

.

April 25 EDIT: I talked to the Best Buy store manager yesterday, hoping that they could step up & help a loyal customer out. Nope! But he did take this opportunity to tell me that I should have bought their ($180) Total membership plan (within 1 or 2 weeks of purchase), so that I might have been eligible to have gotten store credit or exchange. No, I don't think I will.

PS - Asus has a D- rating at the Better Business Bureau - Failure to respond to 83 complaint(s) filed against business

Wow this guy is the ultimate Asus laptop stalker. I get it you had a terrible experience with one. No need to go to every Asus laptop thread and bad mouth every laptop. Its almost like youre a paid lenovo shill or something.

Not a fan of ASUS these days either, BUT, the BBB is a joke.

Get off your high horse boohoo you got a bad laptop now I'm going to cry about it in ever thread

Deal isn't the best imo... If it was a 3k OLED be allot better at that price
Wouldn't YOU want to know if you were thinking of spending $1400 on a new laptop from a company that does NOT honor their WARRANTY?
Knowledge is power.
PS - imho, I'm helping the people on SD, the way I would like to have been helped BEFORE I buy things. Isn't that what this group is about??

Do YOU work for Asus??
I had a Dell, and before that, an HP laptop... and was hoping that Asus was going to be better. But it became the worse tech experience of my life.
PS - at least 83 other people had a bad experience with Asus products. And if only 10% of unhappy Asus customers actually went thru the trouble of creating an account at the BBB and submitting a complaint, then that number could be closer to 830 !!
