Its a pruning saw, primarily used for one handed operation cutting thick branches that pruners/loppers wont work on. Its useful if you cant fit a full sized saw, but a reciprocating saw can serve the same purpose. These generally work better than the reciprocating saw, they are faster and dont have as much clearance issues with the blades sticking out too far, but you have to do alot of cutting to make the price worth it.

If we get storms and branches get broken, this is so much easier than a full chain saw or even a reciprocating saw as the post above mine mentions; Which I used last time we had branches break.

This is stupid overprice. You can buy a cheap generic one on amazon for $40 or sometime less and will work just fine.

Yeah? And those don't come with the second tool for free like this does.
Did you just think it was the pruning saw for 149?

This comes as a kit with battery and charger and another power tool of your choice, in a very well priced and good performing power tool platform.
If you think a cheap one-off tool for $50 is a better deal, that likely won't perform as well, and that you cannot expect support after the battery dies in maybe in a year, and which has few other tools that use the same battery, then go for it. Cheaper price doesn't always mean a better value.

I'd actually jump on this if it came with a 4ah battery. I want that 6.5in saw but I've only got one 2ah battery already and circ saws need a little more oomf to operate reliably unless you're just crossing sheet goods or something, which is what I have their 4.5 long reach saw for- it is absolutely fantastic. Love that thing.

Also, if you already own a pole saw, you already own this and have a built in tactical advantage.
I want the tiny chainsaw to tactically remove these giant ass boxwoods in my backyard. Figure if I can get one good cut through at the base, my cleanup with be way way easier. May just say screw it and hunker down with the pole saw.
