If we get storms and branches get broken, this is so much easier than a full chain saw or even a reciprocating saw as the post above mine mentions; Which I used last time we had branches break.

This comes as a kit with battery and charger and another power tool of your choice, in a very well priced and good performing power tool platform.
If you think a cheap one-off tool for $50 is a better deal, that likely won't perform as well, and that you cannot expect support after the battery dies in maybe in a year, and which has few other tools that use the same battery, then go for it. Cheaper price doesn't always mean a better value.

Also, if you already own a pole saw, you already own this and have a built in tactical advantage.
I want the tiny chainsaw to tactically remove these giant ass boxwoods in my backyard. Figure if I can get one good cut through at the base, my cleanup with be way way easier. May just say screw it and hunker down with the pole saw.
