ℹ️ Standard edition is on GamePass
ℹ️ Alternative storefront: Steam
✅ "Play Anywhere" title works on Windows & Xbox
✅ Adds 25 aircraft & 10 "handcrafted" airports
✅ Dope lanyard?
❌ No physical disc
❌ Game is (still) buggy

imho pretty good if you look past the bugs.

I love the game as much as any flight enthusiast but having a digital code and call it a steelbook is just a scam.

Digital code only - bit weird for steelbook

It's a great price for that edition. But seeing I have everything on Steam, I think I will stick with it. Still happy with 2020 for now, will wait for a time when MSFS 2024 goes on sale on Steam. Plus I had my play money budgeted for the PMDG 777-200ER that's getting released today.

If I care about flight and not aviation / simulation... is there an "easy mode" or "Superman mode" that just allows a player to explore the world without learning to fly a plane?

I bought this weeks ago at this price. In fact I price matched to best buy and got it for even less. $66 out the door. I have made a few videos on 2024 using the full turtle beach setup. Just not a fan of 2024 yet. I use MSFS to practice flying at home as I am currently a student pilot. 2024 is still very buggy and no fun at all to me.

I used to have gamepass, but I only play the same games so I am back to buying games.

No plug, but just trying to help. Here is a video of me attempting to play 2024

Here is a much better video of me using the turtle beach setup to actually fly and have fun in 2020

The UI changes, the preflight, the setup, the controller configurations, and more make 2024 such a pain to play. Even if you get it all configured, there are still the bugs where it is not pretty at all. Things are incorrect and download slow. Believe what everyone is saying.. it is just not ready.

I personally do not have the time to beta test this. 2020 is stable. This set for $65 is the best price, but you are really not getting anything. The steel book is useless. The lanyard is cool as it is like a lapstrap... I put my pilots license in it. The special note is ridiculous especially with the current conditions.

With all that said, If you have any questions or what me to do something particular on video, let me know. I have started doing live sessions on 2024 where you can see the buggyness... like these two... This are what you get when you start it up.

I uninstalled 2024 and went back to 2020. 2024 was just too frustrating with the bugs and lag, even with gigabit fiber internet and ethernet.

I don't have 2024, but in 2020 you can basically turn on all assists and fly invincible with assistance. So, I think that fits the bill. You could always return it if it's not what you want.

I know 2024 is a glitchy/buggy mess compared to 2020. So I'm going to wait until the Aviator edition is at least 50% off before dipping in, 2020 is fine.

Return a used download code that is redeemed to your account? shake head
I think 2020 premium deluxe was just on sale for about $60 which is the cheapest it has been I think but should come up again.

I think this is so cheap so fast because the target audience already has the less buggy 2020 and this came out too soon. If you have 2020 premium deluxe, those planes carry over to 2024, so you can just buy 2024 standard and get a bunch of the premium stuff carried over. I think there might be about 15 NEW to 2024 planes exclusive to 2024 premium deluxe. (5 deluxe and 10 premium). So in that sense, this price seems more realistic if MS knows how many customers would already be in that situation. You just have to hope they keep improving it, which they most likely will. But if you are going off 2020 price history, it probably won't get much cheaper than this unless it really fails.

Aviator edition is $200 so can possibly wait for it to hit $100 for 30 more marketplace planes if you are a completist instead of this.

I have 2020 and it took awhile for MS to iron the bugs. Still have a boat load to explore in there. They released 2024 way too soon. Will definitely going to wait it out.

Better check your download speed. Game takes a lot of data
And check the system requirements. It wouldn't attempt to run on my system per the graphics card being outside of their requirements.

I have 2020. Is this a worthwhile upgrade?
Visually much better. have no problems with it. Been flight simming since 1981 and have had 2020 for a couple of years.

The item came exactly as described. The game code is on the card's reverse side of the lanyard included.
Also, I've been to TJ in Mexico years ago... and boy, when I opened this box the smell that is baked into the package reminded me exactly of that. The item was made in Mexico so that explains everything 🤗

Am I taking crazy pills, or has this dropped to $54.99?

Edit: I see there are more recent threads around this price that are closed. This is the most recent thread that's still open. Weird.
