Check the River 2 Pro refurb before you decide. The Pro is 768wh, 21 lbs and like a 1'x1' cube. Very portable and runs my coffee maker in power outages. Only slightly more $ with lots of capability.
Bought this one refurbed over a year ago, no issues. In fact I almost exclusively buy EcoFlow's refurbed units. Been an ecoholic since 2020 only regret is the wave 2 air conditioner…

Is this better than River 3?
Yes, price output and usage. River 3 is a toy compare to these.

I bought a 2 max refurbished from eBay 1 year ago, packaged with a 160w solar panel. Works like a champ! No issues. The panel will fully charge in under 5 hours on a sunny day .. averaging 100-120w output. Very happy with the set

why are there so many refurbished units?
My theory is ecoflow is selling new models as refurbs as clearance due to upcoming tariff uncertainty. I am not sure why that would be a beneficial strategy, but the timing is uncanny.

You know, You might be onto something there. If they sell as refurb, they can dump inventory at low prices without devaluing their product sold new.

PS. The manufacture date of both my ecoflow "refurbs" is within past 6 months. So the battery's are very fresh. They look new too with not a scratch on them.

For those who ask if this can run a fridge, yes, but be warned. Mini fridge, Chest freezer, no problem. A normal size fridge you have to bypass overload protection for fridge to start up (it's a button on front of unit). This can ruin your fridge. It may work (after a few tries) but you risk breaking the fridge. This is good for glamping and parties not near a power source.

River products are <1000wh, Delta are >1000wh.
River tend to be more portable (smaller and lighter), and while some of the Delta units can be carried around, they are heavier and take up a lot more space.
There are other differences, but those are the quick easy differences.

Also, never use them on anything with an AC inverter compressor.

Not only does it waste power, but it wastes power twice.
