True but on Amazon you get 20% cash back if you use the prime card. That is 80ish back.
Costco has them for 399.99 if you have a membership.
FYI. If you're a Costco member these are slightly cheaper and you get the lifetime return policy.

I picked them up after using the 5400s for a few years before lighting storm fried them. Costco took them back and I upgraded to these.

Reason I picked this is all ports are 2.5Gbps compared to say the 75x pros which only have 1 2.5gbps port.

So far no issues.

Installed this the other day, replacing a TP-Link 6E mesh system. Don't have a wired backhaul ran yet, so using wireless. Looks like this model uses a combination 5ghz/6ghz for the backhaul rather than just 6ghz, and I noticed a bump of 25-30% wireless speeds at my satellites. Getting just about what I would with a wired connection now. The 2.5g ports also enabled me to get rid of a 2.5g switch I was using to interface between my PC and media server. Overall a solid upgrade so far, will be better once I get around to running Ethernet through the house.

When you run the wired backhaul, you may need to switch it to Access Point mode (Settings > Advanced > Mode). I was not able to get it to detect that a second Deco was wired until I made that change. Now the thing is flying! The two Decos are not directly connected- it goes through a network switch. That may have been my problem. But otherwise really happy with the upgrade vs my really old Orbi.

I had to return mine due to dropping by connection when roaming inside the house. Otherwise, it's a solid product with mesh wifi 7 network and 2.5gbps w/vlan

Me too. I have an Orbi RBK50. My only complaint about Orbi is that there's a distinction between routers and satellites. So, I'd need to buy satellites if I want to expand or address dead spots, which cost an arm or a leg. I did flash a few routers into satellites, but that would void the warranty. I have my eyes on the Asus BQ16/Pro, which is ~$450 per unit (slightly less than an Orbi equivalent). I like Asus' setup because there's no distinction between routers and satellites. However, many reviews complain about their firmware issues. I don't want to drop $2000+ and deal with technical problems.
You should try the Voxel alternative Firmware. It takes some time but the outcome is worth it. My range is the same but the stability is much better. Should note I run the Orbi's in AP mode and offload the Routing to a pfSense Box.

Is the extra 20% dead on this? I don't see it.

you are paying for this return policy with your annual fee so i dont know why this gets people so crazed about it. If they make their policy stricter it wont be because consumers keep returning stuff. You get what you pay for - i buy things for Aliexpress all the time for much cheaper than amazon and guess what i cant return them not easily anyway. Pay more and buy from amazon with an easy 30 day return policy, pay even more and buy from Costco and so on.

You know darn well that returning 3 year old used electronic equipment is an abuse of the policy. Just because there is a loophole that routers are exempt doesn't make it right.

Claiming you are unhappy after using a product for 3 years is just plain dishonest.

If you can live with yourself being dishonest like that, that is on you, but some people believe in karma.

Like others have said, people like you abusing the policy will lead to it being changed.

Look into Moca. You can get 2.5g over coax if you already have that run.
